Meet Bruce KirkpatrickBruce Kirkpatrick is the founder of Kirkpatrick Communications, Inc. He has held sales management, marketing management, and training positions for major corporations with national and international responsibilities. For over ten years he held management positions in high technology, concentrating in semiconductor equipment and materials. He has developed and taught courses in different aspects of sales, sales management, and marketing. Bruce began his career with The Gap Stores, Inc. managing multiple stores in Southern California and Northern California. He had the responsibility of staffing, hiring, and training for the international retail clothing chain. He also held other positions for The Gap including district trainer, where he developed various training tools, and operational auditor, in which he had responsibility for evaluation and training of over 40 stores. A move into outside sales was next for Bruce as he accepted a position with a small semiconductor equipment manufacturer, MAS International (formerly Micro Air Systems). He quickly established a reputation for effective sales generation, customer service, and management, and was named National Sales Manager. In that position he supervised manufacturer representative firms, direct sales, field service, and customer service as well as handling all marketing duties. As VP of Marketing, the small company atmosphere also enabled Bruce to supervise the penetration of international markets, develop new markets for established products, and to expand new product development. With an extensive background of management under his belt, Bruce next accepted the challenge of turning around regional sales at KTI Chemicals, Inc., a subsidiary of Union Carbide. Coupling his strong management skills with a flair for marketing enabled him to establish KTI's marketing department as the company went from being a distributor to worldwide manufacturer of specialized chemicals sold to the semiconductor industry. As marketing manager he created and implemented the advertising and public relations strategy, coordinated product marketing, developed sales trainings in negotiation and presentation skills, as well as producing an international technical symposium. Bruce received his B.A. degree in political science from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. He has been trained in Xerox Selling Skills, been a graduate assistant in Dale Carnegie courses, and completed a two year sales and marketing program with Hecht and Associates, a leading sales professional training firm. He is a certified ORDIS facilitator and a LIFO trainer. Experience Summary
