![]() Reports of the Death of Trade Shows are Greatly Exaggerated
Trade show participation reached its peak in the late 1990's. Then came the crash of the dot com bubble and the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Business travel plummeted and along with that came a steep decline in trade show participation. With a nod to Mark Twain, we must point out that trade shows are not dead. They still serve a vital purpose in business to business communications. But today trade show expenditues are made with greater care. Budgets and show floor exhibits are smaller, and less glitzy. Even so, trade shows offer prime opportunities to announce new products to an interested audience and create face time between your sales, engineering and marketing people and their counterparts among your customers, prospects and vendors.
